Janet Reeves-Wilson
Janet Wilson has over 10 years of experience in life and career coaching. She specializes in career development and career readiness. A former healthcare professional with 30 years of experience who has experienced transforming herself and her career to align with her natural talents, strengths, and passion. Janet uses an ontological approach to coaching. Ontology is the study of being. Who are you being as you navigate your way through life; your best self, or your fears? After spending 30 years in one career and then changing to do something completely different I understand my client’s experiences and can empathize with their feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and fear. Deciding to do something you "should" do versus something that satisfies your soul.
1. Janet went back to school after many decades to get her master's in psychology while working full-time in a very busy hospital laboratory.
2. Completed a year of coach training with the Accomplishment Coaching and Leadership Development training program.
3. Certified in Personal Development.
4. At Better Up, Janet coaches several entry-level new hires, newly hired managers, newly promoted managers, and experienced managers who want to develop better people-managing skills.
5. Coached several entry-level clients who wanted to change careers due to making the wrong career choice.
Janet Reeves-Wilson is a seasoned career development and career readiness coach. Janet is a former healthcare professional who made the tough decision in 2014 to leave a company and a profession she once loved. Janet wanted to pursue a different career path that she felt was more aligned with her innate talents, and her passion for coaching people to discover the power in becoming more self-aware. What led her to become a coach was falling out of love with a job and profession she once loved. After Janet left the company she attended a conference, saw the work of a life coach and her whole life changed in ways she could never have imagined.
While at the conference Janet took a DISC and Motivators behavioral assessment This assessment gave her the clarity, self-awareness and courage needed to pursue the work she “came here to do”, her life’s work. Ironically my behavioral style is one of a “coach”.
Janet now helps colleges and universities support their students with clarity and the life-changing self-awareness that the Discovering Your Career Path assessment can provide. This will in turn increase recruitment, retention, and graduation rates by providing the students with the individualized support they need to be one of the 13% of entry-level employees companies are eager to hire.
